HOUSTON, TX – November 14, 2023 – Career & Recovery Resources, Inc. (CRR), a greaterHouston area non-profit, envisions people living lives of self-determination and financial viabilitythrough behavioral and physical wellness, education, workforce development, and affordablehousing, is pleased to announce the appointment of Nkechi “Nikki” Agwuenu as the new ChiefExecutive Officer (CEO). The decision was unanimously approved by the Board of Directors andcomes after a thorough evaluation of her performance as Chief Operating Officer (COO), where itwas determined she was the best candidate to assume the CEO role.
Nkechi “Nikki” Agwuenu has been an integral partner of CRR’s leadership team, and in her role asCOO, she has demonstrated exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and a deep commitment toour organization’s mission. Nikki’s dedication and contributions have been instrumental indeveloping innovative service offerings that provide a second chance to those we serve. “Her in-depth knowledge of CRR, coupled with her passion for the mission, makes her the ideal candidateto lead CRR into its next phase of growth and impact,” stated board chairperson Bonar Luzey, II.

Kelly Young assumed the CEO role at CRR five years ago, and under her transformative leadership, CRR has experienced unprecedented success and navigated the COVID-19 pandemic, all while continuing to provide service to its clients. Kelly will be a tremendous asset to the Coalition for the Homeless of Houston/Harris County as their new CEO when she assumes the role on January 3, 2024. We wish her great success in her next role.
